Been a while since I put anything up on the blog. Been a busy little bee in the last while, that and enjoying the damn good summer weather.<p>

I came across this guy ages ago and just stumbled across him again today. Niark1 (as you may have guessed) is the name of this illustrator/designer from Paris and damn is he good at his profession. Puke.

I love his style, it reminds me of a lot of street artists/graffitis artists and various artists that turn up in the likes of Juxtapoz mag or FecalFace site. Check himself here: http://www.niark1.com/.

I'll be scooping up one of these badboys when then get out in the shops. They look unbelievable, I can only imagine the craic one could have taking shots with one of these. So Sarah, if you're reading this, chalk it down on the Christmas list. :)

Daim – a German graffiti artist  – has been around from the early 90s, well from what I can remember or first took note of anyway. Never content with painting 'traditional’ graffiti, he has always pushed the boundries. I distinctly remember seeing a mural he had painted that adorned a full side of an apartment block in a mag in the 90s. I had no idea that people could work on such a large scale, retain proportions and deliver a coherant, eye-catching piece of work. Daim opened my eyes to these possibilities.

Regarding Daim’s style of graffiti, it can be seen s a 3d-style. Himself, Loomit (a Germain painter) and another Dutch artist know as Delta can be seen as the pioneers of this style. It came about in the 90s. Daim has really taken it to the next level though, his background in architecture and his sophisticated use of colour palettes reflect this.

I touched on this man’s work in my previous post, so I thought it only fitting to give him a nod on the blog. I'm a massive fan of his work and have been for a very long time. Similar to Daim, he has brought his graffiti to another lebel, this taking its form in large scale 3d installations, murals, clothing, music covers, toys... the list could go on. It all seems to turn to gold.

It's so exciting to follow an artist and to see their work evolve. I've never felt that he has become stale in his approach, constantly innovative. I nearly net the man once when I lived in Amsterdam, that would've been unreal, then again, probably best never to meet one's heros.

The following is a small sample of the English company Why Not Associates work. I've only picked out the environmental type projects. It's the tip of the iceburg in relation to their wide portfolio of work. They cover all major bases... type design, motion, illustration, branding in all its forms, book design, the list could go on. On a first glance it could be said that they're a jack of all trades, there is a half-truth to this. But to those that are well-informed, it is very clear that they excel in all disciplines they throw their hand at.
